Equine Ultrasound Services
Field Diagnostic Ultrasound
Ultrasound is used to image and examine soft tissues just as x-rays are used to primarily image bones. Most frequently ultrasound has been used in horses for reproductive evaluations, pregnancy checks, and diagnosing tendon and ligament injuries. With the development of more sophisticated portable ultrasound machines, veterinarians are capable of using ultrasound on internal organs, assessing damage inside an eyeball, or monitoring a near-term fetus trans-abdominally.
Each Equine Veterinary Associates veterinarian has different fields of expertise in the use of ultrasound. We will be pleased to advise you which veterinarian is best qualified to help you with your special need when you make your appointment.
